In this role, the Cashier/Checker plays a crucial part in upholding Kroger’s dedication to outstanding customer service and operational excellence. This position is centered on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. The Cashier/Checker is visible and approachable, actively greeting and assisting customers with a friendly and positive attitude. Expected to process transactions efficiently and accurately, the Cashier/Checker handles various payment tenders including cash, checks, credit and debit cards, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers, always adhering to company policies.

Additionally, this role requires knowledge of the Point of Sale system and adherence to loss prevention measures, guidelines on restricted items, and company procedures. The Cashier/Checker helps maintain store safety by following food safety regulations and participating in safety programs, identifying unsafe conditions, and reporting them promptly.
