As a Cashier/Checker at Kroger, the successful candidate will be visible and approachable, actively engaging with customers to provide friendly, prompt service throughout the checkout process. Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers actively and courteously
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the POS system
  • Handle various forms of payment including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers following company policies
  • Monitor and control cash shortages and overages to reduce loss
  • Follow company guidelines on restricted sales such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to management
  • Comply with food safety regulations and store safety procedures
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions and equipment issues
  • Provide customers with product information and promote a welcoming store environment
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company policies during all operations
  • Manage conflict professionally and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults respectfully and responsibly
  • Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues promptly
