The Cashier/Checker role at Kroger is a vital position that directly influences the customer experience. Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Understand and manage Point of Sale system including various tenders like cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers
  • Adhere to company limits on cash shortages or overages and control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items including alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with seasonal, special, and future ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or accidents
  • Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and report repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product inquiries
  • Follow all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
