The role of Cashier and Customer Service Associate is critical within Sanwa's operational framework. This position requires managing all customer transactions efficiently and accurately. Being a frontline representative, the associate is responsible for receiving payments, issuing receipts, bagging groceries, and maintaining careful records of cash and credit transactions. Job Requirements

  • High school or GED graduate
  • Previous experience in a customer service position
  • Ability to work flexible schedules
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Ability to learn store produce and their location
  • Ability to go up and down stairs where applicable
  • Adherence to safety, quality, and service standards
  • High standard of integrity and reliability

Job Qualifications

  • High school or GED graduate
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Good knowledge of POS system
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Basic math skills including counting, addition, and subtraction
  • Bi-lingual preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
  • Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Collect payments whether in cash or credit
  • Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
  • Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
  • Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
  • Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
  • Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
  • Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
  • Bag groceries and organize carts as needed
  • Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
