Job Requirements

Customer service experience
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary

Job Qualifications

Customer service experience

Experience with cash handling and POS systems preferred
Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus

Job Duties

Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly
Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently through the POS system
Handle various tender types such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
Adhere to company guidelines regarding cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items
Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
Comply with established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
Identify and report safety issues or equipment requiring maintenance
Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts reasonably
Practice honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
Adhere to all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
Seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues
