The role of Head Cashier is vital within the front-end operations. This position not only involves direct customer interaction by processing checkout and return transactions but also plays a key leadership role by supporting and leading Cashiers. The Head Cashier is responsible for positioning cashiers effectively, assisting with price checks, approving point-of-sale transactions, and managing markdowns across various sales points including mainline registers, self-checkout counters, returns, pro desk, special services, and tool rental areas. Additionally, the Head Cashier handles first-level customer escalations, ensuring customer issues are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.

An essential part of this role includes coaching and training new and existing cashiers, utilizing all available resources to enhance their skills and knowledge. The Head Cashier fosters a collaborative environment, offering guidance and support aimed at improving service quality and operational efficiency. This role requires someone with at least one year of experience as a cashier, who is proactive in acquiring product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify selling opportunities. Adhering to company policies and procedures diligently helps minimize shrinkage and maintain smooth operations.
