Job Description
The hiring establishment is a retail company operating in the convenience store sector, specializing in providing a wide range of products and services to customers in a friendly, safe, and clean environment. This company is committed to maintaining high corporate standards and values exceptional customer service as a cornerstone of its operations. The retail department is integral to the overall success of the store, focusing on creating an approachable atmosphere that encourages repeat business and customer satisfaction. Operating full-time positions, the company offers hourly compensation and works under the leadership of a store manager, emphasizing team collaboration and multitasking in a dynamic retail setting.
The position available is that of a front-line retail associate who embodies the corporate values by delivering outstanding customer service. The role involves managing Point of Sale (POS) systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash register and fuel console operations. This position requires attention to detail in accurately handling money and various forms of payment, efficiently entering transactions, and adhering strictly to company policies for various sales such as alcohol, tobacco, lottery, and fast-food products. The associate must actively engage in sales promotions, use suggestive selling techniques, and contribute to achieving store sales goals.
Beyond customer interaction, the role encompasses significant responsibilities related to maintaining store cleanliness, safety, and organization. Duties include conducting routine cleaning of floors, equipment, counters, and restroom areas, as well as handling merchandising tasks like stocking shelves, front-facing cooler and Hydrazone displays, and organizing backroom supplies. The associate also manages product deliveries, ensuring proper lifting techniques and product rotation to uphold freshness standards. The role occasionally requires food preparation duties such as brewing coffee and maintaining the condiment bar, especially when working designated shifts like Barista or night shifts, which also involve deep cleaning tasks.
The company prioritizes compliance with safety regulations, including robbery and violence prevention policies, as well as adherence to city, county, state, and federal laws relevant to store operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and has open availability for various shifts including working at multiple stores within the district if necessary. This position demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand and walk throughout shifts, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various physical movements such as bending, stooping, and pushing or pulling equipment.
This comprehensive role offers a rewarding experience for candidates eager to work in a customer-focused, fast-paced retail environment with growth opportunities and excellent benefits. The company supports its employees with employer-paid medical plans, life insurance, and other insurance options alongside retirement savings plans like 401(k), underscoring its commitment to employee well-being and long-term career development.
