The role of a Cashier/Checker at King Soopers is an essential position that plays a critical part in delivering an outstanding customer experience. Cashiers are the visible face of the company, actively engaging, greeting, and assisting customers to ensure their shopping experience is smooth, friendly, and efficient. In addition to processing transactions, Cashiers/Checkers are responsible for adhering to all food safety guidelines, monitoring and reporting any pricing discrepancies, and complying with sale restrictions on items such as alcohol and tobacco. They must maintain a clean and safe environment by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions, thereby contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for shoppers.

Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively at the checkout
- process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers
- monitor and control cash shortages and overages
- adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- follow established company policies for postage, gift cards, and coupons
- stay updated with current promotions and advertisements
- comply with food safety regulations
- identify and report unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment issues
- create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions
- abide by all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively
- maintain confidentiality and act with integrity
- provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
