Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Handle various payment methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company limits on cash shortages and overages and control loss
- Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer inquiries
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
