Job Description

Responsibilities include operating point-of-sale (POS) systems for cash and fuel transactions, processing various payment methods including credit cards and vendor check-ins, and adhering strictly to laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and lottery sales. Employees are expected to actively promote sales initiatives through suggestive selling and engagement in promotional campaigns to meet sales targets. A crucial part of the role is to maintain store cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, stocking shelves, and managing waste disposal, alongside managing inventory freshness by inspecting perishable products for quality control. Those working during Barista shifts will also prepare hot food items, brew coffee, replenish condiment bars, and manage product thawing to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
The candidate will also be responsible for adhering to safety protocols, including theft and violence prevention measures. Participating in team-building activities and contributing to a positive work environment are prioritized. Special attention is given to equipment maintenance and hygiene, requiring regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces both inside and outside the store. The role demands physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for long periods, bending, stooping, and handling equipment, which underscores the physical demands of this retail position. - Must be able to stand and walk entire shift

- Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands throughout the workday
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Excellent computer skills including competency in PDI Enterprise POS
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little or no supervision
- Basic math skills
- Food Handlers Permit if required
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Availability to work all shifts at home and district stores as needed
Job Duties
- Take measures to preserve the safety of employees and customers
- Operate POS including cash register and fuel console accurately
- Enter all transactions, accept payments, and account for funds
- Perform service transactions including credit cards, coupons, alcohol, tobacco, and lottery sales
- Check identification for restricted products
- Participate in sales promotions and suggestive selling
- Maintain neat personal appearance and wear company uniform
- Prepare hot food items and maintain food service areas
- Ensure store cleanliness including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
- Wipe down Fuel Delivery area and pumps
- Restock merchandise and manage product rotation
- Conduct daily inspections of perishable products
- Follow robbery and safety prevention protocols
- Act as back-up cashier during Barista shifts
- Brew coffee and maintain condiment bar
- Perform deep cleaning during night shifts
- Prepare for morning rush with fresh coffee and stocked machines
