The position offered is that of a Full-Time Cashier with a starting pay of $10 per hour, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and availability. This role is integral to maintaining the store's high standards of customer service, operating as the primary point of contact between the customer and the store. The cashier is responsible not only for processing transactions efficiently and accurately but also for fostering a positive shopping experience that reflects the company's core value: to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. Beyond handling payments, the cashier will assist with managing shelves, inventory, and the overall upkeep of the store's appearance and cleanliness. Employees in this role engage in various sales promotions, use suggestive selling techniques, and build strong customer relations to drive store performance. The job also requires adherence to city, county, state, and federal laws as well as company policies, ensuring a safe and compliant retail environment.

A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, proficiency with point-of-sale systems, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities include accurate cash handling, transaction processing, participation in sales initiatives, maintaining a tidy work environment, and engaging customers in the Ace Rewards program. The physical demands require standing for extended periods, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting merchandise up to 40 pounds. The environment is typically moderate in noise level and involves occasional exposure to outside weather and mechanical parts. Jabo's Ace Hardware values punctuality, a flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, and bilingual communication skills, particularly Spanish, are highly desirable. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Precisely and accurately handle money, checks, and other types of payment including processing refunds and issuing merchandise credit
  • Perform credit card transactions, manufacturer coupon redemption, personal check acceptance, and vendor check-in transactions
  • Verify accuracy of cash drawer at beginning and end of shift and report discrepancies
  • Participate in sales promotions and practice suggestive selling
  • Review and adhere to legal regulations affecting store operations
  • Maintain neat appearance and wear company uniform and nametag
  • Address and document customer complaints positively
  • Keep work area clean and sanitized and ensure equipment functionality
  • Dust merchandise near register area
  • Follow company policies and procedures for all transactions
  • Engage customers with ACE Rewards program
  • Adhere to store safety and emergency procedures
  • Perform regular cleaning of store equipment, counters, and restrooms
  • Participate in store sales building and team-building activities
  • Actively participate in store communications and initiatives
