This position is for a Head Cashier, a vital role that requires someone who is both customer-oriented and a natural leader. The Head Cashier plays a critical role in delivering fast, friendly, accurate, and safe customer service at checkout and return points. They are responsible for managing and supporting the team of cashiers by positioning them effectively during shifts and facilitating smooth checkout processes. The Head Cashier provides expertise and guidance on price checks, approves Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments, including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
Beyond transactional duties, the Head Cashier acts as the first level of escalation for customer issues, ensuring that any conflicts or concerns are resolved promptly and professionally. They also assist in supervising, coaching, and training other Front End Associates, significantly contributing to team skill development and service quality improvement. By using available tools to coach and develop staff, the Head Cashier plays a key role in maintaining a motivated and proficient front-end team.
Candidates should ideally have over one year of cashier experience to qualify for this position, bringing both practical knowledge of cashiering and the ability to lead others.
