We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Head Cashier. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our customers receive fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service at the front end of the store. The Head Cashier will be responsible for positioning Cashiers effectively, expediting price checks, and approving transactions and markdowns across all registers including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental. This position demands strong leadership abilities as the Head Cashier will provide critical support in coaching, training, and supervising Front End Associates. The successful candidate will handle the first level of escalation for customer issues, ensuring problems are resolved quickly and satisfactory. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with over one year of cashier experience to advance their career in retail management, contributing to team development and elevating customer service standards. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 or more years of cashier experience
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must follow company policies and procedures strictly

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year cashier experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and support a team
  • Knowledge of point of sale systems
  • Basic math skills for transaction handling
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints effectively
  • Experience in coaching or training personnel is a plus

Job Duties

  • Process checkout and return transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
  • Provide product and project information to customers and identify selling opportunities
  • Minimize shrink by following all company policies and procedures
  • Position Cashiers and expedite price checks
  • Approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service registers
  • Provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • Assist in supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates
  • Participate in training new Cashiers and utilize tools to coach and develop staff
