The position of Head Cashier is a vital role within the retail team, focused on ensuring that customers have a fast, friendly, accurate, and safe checkout experience. Head Cashiers take on leadership responsibilities by overseeing cashier operations and supporting cashiers in their daily tasks. This role involves managing checkout transactions including sales, returns, and price adjustments, and it requires a keen eye for detail to minimize errors and losses. A key aspect of the role is to maintain order in the Self-Checkout area and assist customers with any issues that arise. The Head Cashier also serves as the first point of contact for escalating customer concerns and provides coaching and training to new and existing cashiers. Candidates for this role should be experienced cashiers, ideally with over one year of experience, who are ready to take on additional responsibilities in a supervisory capacity. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills within a supportive retail environment and contribute to the overall success of the store.

Job Duties

  • Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe checkout service
  • process checkout and return transactions
  • monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area
  • expedite price checks
  • approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns
  • provide first level escalation for customer issues
  • assist in coaching and training cashiers
