- Ability to handle cash and point-of-sale transactions efficiently

Job Duties
- Greeting and assisting customers actively and visibly
- Processing customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane
- Handling various tender methods including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policies
- Controlling loss by adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages
- Monitoring and following guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol and tobacco
- Reporting pricing discrepancies to scan coordinator
- Following established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Staying updated with current, future, seasonal, and special advertisements
- Adhering to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Complying with safety programs and reporting unsafe conditions to management
- Performing preventive equipment maintenance checks and reporting repair needs
- Creating a welcoming environment by answering customers' product questions
- Abiding by all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Cooperating effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Managing conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner
- Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Following directions and seeking assistance to resolve issues
- Providing direct support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
