Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
availability to work flexible part-time hours
ability to stand for extended periods
reliable transportation to the Wake Forest location
willingness to learn and adapt
basic understanding of payment processing
ability to interact positively with customers and team members

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus but not required
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
basic math skills
ability to operate cash registers and basic computer systems
friendly and approachable demeanor
attention to detail

Job Duties

Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
proactively offer additional assistance
thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
when on register, efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
when in self-checkout area, manage traffic flow
direct customers to available lanes
ensure the lanes are in good working order and assist customers with system troubleshooting
maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space
