Job Requirements

- One year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact politely and effectively with customers

- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
Job Duties
- Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
- Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
- Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
- Understand use of check-stand equipment including register, scanner, scale, belts and operate efficiently
- Perform front-end duties such as merchandising check-stand items like newspapers, periodicals, and candy
- Ensure proper product identification and corresponding PLUs and report pricing or signage errors
- Maintain understanding of current store programs and product locations
- Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers while modeling high standards of service
- Comply with company policies regarding security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of alcohol and tobacco
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked department adhering to safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with stocking items as needed
- Follow PPE, safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines
- May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
