- must be able to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and talk and hear with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1-3 months of cashiering experience
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to perform basic math including rate, ratio and percent
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
- good judgment and tact when working with customers and co-workers
Job Duties
- Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store
- promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefits
- accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day
- maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace
- engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each and every transaction
- end each transaction by saying thank you to every customer
- maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor
- contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
- assist in all other duties as assigned
