Job Duties

  • Greet, engage, and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons
  • Adhere to company policies on cash handling, loss prevention, restricted sale items, and checkout procedures
  • Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay updated with current, future, seasonal, and special store ads
  • Follow all food safety regulations and safety procedures
  • Identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notify management
  • Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment needing repairs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering product and store-related questions
  • Comply with all local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational way
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
  • Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
