Job Duties

  • Greet, engage and assist customers actively
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, coupons and loyalty offers according to company policy
  • Understand and adhere to cash limits and control loss
  • Comply with guidelines on restricted sales items such as alcohol and tobacco
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
  • Stay updated with current and seasonal ads
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
  • Inspect equipment and report needs for repair
  • Create a welcoming environment and answer customer questions
  • Follow local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced environments
  • Manage conflict reasonably and nonconfrontationally
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed
  • Provide support for minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
