Job Duties

  • Operate cash register and electronic scanner to itemize customer purchases
  • Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately
  • Weigh and carefully bag customer purchases
  • Understand use of check-stand equipment and its efficient operation
  • Perform front-end merchandising such as newspapers, periodicals, candy, etc.
  • Ensure proper use of product identification and corresponding PLUs
  • Communicate company programs and in-store specials to customers
  • Comply with company policies on security, cash handling, product handling, alcohol and tobacco sales
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock levels of department
  • Assist with stocking items as needed
  • Follow all PPE, safety, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines
  • Perform tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
