Job Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math including counting, addition, and subtraction
- Prior cashier or courtesy clerk experience is preferred
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties
- Greet, engage and assist customers actively and courteously
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
- Handle various forms of payment including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, and coupons according to company policy
- Adhere to company guidelines on cash shortages, overages, and restricted sale items
- Report pricing discrepancies and follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current, seasonal, and special promotions and ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and store safety procedures
- Identify and communicate unsafe conditions or equipment needing repair
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions and supporting individuals with special needs
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment while managing conflict reasonably
- Follow legal and company guidelines carefully
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs
