  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk desired

Job Duties

  • Be visible and actively greet, engage and assist customers
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and adhere to checkout procedures
  • Adhere to company policies regarding cash shortages and overages and control loss
  • Follow guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
  • Follow established policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products and store services
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict reasonably, nonconfrontationally and cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
