Job Description

Tashman Home Center is an independently owned cooperative member of the Ace Hardware Corporation network, operating its own Ace Hardware store through a licensed agreement. Unlike corporate-owned stores, Tashman Home Center is managed and fully controlled by the independent store owner, who makes all employment-related decisions including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.   • Previous cashier experience preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Project a positive representation
  • Greet customers entering and throughout the store
  • Thank customers by name when possible
  • Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor
  • Work well with customers and associates
  • Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently
  • Answer and monitor calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively
  • Communicate any problems or issues requiring management assistance
  • Build product knowledge to assist customers with store layout and product location
  • Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging merchandise
  • Follow all cash register transaction procedures
  • Balance register drawer
  • Adhere to Store Support Center programs or promotions
  • Participate in store and cashier meetings
  • Keep front end and checkout areas neat and clean
  • Stock and face impulse counters
  • Rotate merchandise seasonally
  • Stock fresh ads in shopping carts
  • Ensure forms and supplies are stocked
  • Assist with decorating the front end as per Store Support Center program
  • Assist with putting away merchandise
  • Perform other duties as assigned
