Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in related field or industry
  • Standing capability for a minimum of 4 hours
  • Ability to move a maximum of 40 lbs. from 6 inches to 48 inches
  • Ability to move a maximum of 40 lbs. up to 15 feet
  • Ability to pick up items from floor, case, shelf or cart
  • Ability to retrieve merchandise approximately 84 inches from the floor
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist while cleaning, moving, removing, loading and unloading merchandise

  • Basic mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in related field or industry

Job Duties

  • Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely
  • Process customer purchases quickly and accurately by operating electronic cash register, scanner and scale
  • Clean register area by sweeping floors, cleaning check lanes, registers and scales
  • Prevent loss of money and merchandise by careful product handling, completion of price, correct identification of produce, counting of money, and accurately using store procedures for acceptance of coupons, WIC and other vouchers, checks, credit and debit cards
  • Assure safety of self, customers and co-workers by understanding and practicing store safety rules and notifying supervisor of any potential hazard immediately
  • Bag customer purchases quickly and correctly
  • Understand operation, safety requirements and restraints of electronic cash register, scanner, scale and intercom system
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, substitute for absent workers and perform additional tasks necessary to provide products and services to customers
