Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency degree
1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
ability to work varied hours and days including weekends and holidays
strong customer service skills
basic math skills
ability to use point of sale systems
ability to stand and walk for extended periods
excellent communication skills
ability to adapt to fast-paced environments
strong attention to detail
ability to work well in a team environment
reliable and punctual

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency degree
preferred 1-2 years of grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures
previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times
ability to adapt to high volume retail environments
strong initiative when problems arise
flexibility to adapt in various situations
advanced attention to detail with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
excellent written communication and documentation skills
excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
ability to multitask and possess excellent organizational skills
ability to support and contribute to team goals
availability to work varied hours and days as business dictates
basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
demonstrated ability to use a Point of Sale System (POS)

Job Duties

Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
conducts produce walks and weekly testing
computes bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing amounts due
receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
operates cash register by scanning items or entering PLUs manually
greets customers entering the store and responds promptly to their needs
maintains clean and orderly checkout areas ensuring no personal items are present
issues coupons and rain checks
assists customers as needed
adheres to all procedural guidelines set by the Front End Department
other duties as assigned
