Job Duties
- Greet and engage customers actively and courteously at the checkout
- Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently through the Point of Sale system
- Handle various tender types, including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policies
- Adhere to company limits and procedures for cash shortages and overages to control loss
- Enforce guidelines on restricted sale items such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
- Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
- Follow policies and procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
- Stay updated with current, seasonal, and special sales ads
- Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repair needs
- Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product questions
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines
- Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner
- Maintain honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
