Job Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and engage actively to provide exceptional service
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently using the Point of Sale system
  • Handle various tenders including cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, offline SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, and coupons in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor and control loss by adhering to company limits on cash shortages and overages
  • Enforce guidelines for restricted sales such as alcohol, tobacco, and DVDs
  • Report pricing discrepancies to the appropriate personnel
  • Follow established procedures for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons
  • Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and advertisements
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to store management
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report equipment issues
  • Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with product inquiries
  • Adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal laws and company policies
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Manage conflict respectfully and effectively
  • Uphold honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
