Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts including weekends
ability to stand for extended periods
basic math and reading skills

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
previous customer service experience preferred but not required
ability to communicate effectively and kindly
basic math skills
ability to operate cash register and handle payment methods
strong interpersonal skills
ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
proactively offer additional assistance
thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
manage traffic flow in self-checkout area
direct customers to available lanes
ensure the self-checkout lanes are in good working order
assist customers with system troubleshooting
maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
