Job Requirements

True open availability including weekends
Ability to stand for long periods
Capable of frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning
Good oral and written communication skills
Basic math proficiency

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous retail or cashier experience an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills
Ability to operate check stand equipment accurately
Knowledge of customer service principles
Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

Communicates with customers and co-workers in a polite and professional manner
Greet, engage, and thank customers
Monitor customer flow and call for assistance as needed
Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques and bag customer orders properly
Assist customers with promotional items and items available at the check stand and product location throughout the store
Accurately operate check stand equipment such as a cash register, electronic payment system, Self-Checkout (SCO), Remote Approval Station (RAP), scanner and scale to process customer orders in strict compliance with Company Policies and Procedures
Report policy violations to store management
Accurately handle monetary transactions including cash, checks, charges, gift cards, travelers' checks, food stamps, WIC vouchers, coupons, rain checks and refunds
Keep currency and coupons organized and accountable for cash register till contents
Identify produce items and enter correct PLU codes
Record and report inaccurate UPC codes and pricing
Maintain clean, neat, and properly stocked check stand area and ensure a clean, safe, and secure work environment
Perform duties such as stocking, returning merchandise to the sales floor, and rotating merchandise
Perform all job duties with honesty and integrity and in compliance with Company policies and procedures
