The Carhop role primarily focuses on providing exceptional service by delivering food products directly to guests in a vehicle or outdoor setting, embodying friendliness and efficiency. The Carhop ensures that each order meets the companys operational, quality, and appearance standards before delivery. Candidates will be expected to carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds and maintain balance during delivery. This job requires excellent interpersonal skills to interact courteously and attentively with guests, promptly addressing any requests or concerns and escalating issues to the Manager on Duty when necessary. Additionally, Carhops assist guests with payment processing, making accurate and quick change, and clearing trays and trash to maintain a clean dining area around guests vehicles and other designated seating areas. The role also involves performing various cleaning and sanitation tasks in compliance with company policies, ranging from mopping and sweeping to washing dishes and sanitizing food preparation tools and surfaces.

An added dimension of this position includes the opportunity to become a Skating Carhop. Those interested and qualified will undergo specialized training to perform duties on roller skates, enhancing the dining experience for customers with fast and dynamic service. This specialized role demands physical agility and balance, as well as the ability to multitask effectively under pressure. The position requires irregular hours with shifts often scheduled during nights, weekends, and holidays, allowing for flexibility in employment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in restaurant or retail preferred
  • Ability to carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Capability to stand, bend, reach, move, stoop, stretch, lift, and skate (if applicable) for extended periods
  • Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Strong communication abilities

Job Duties

  • Ensure that product meets operational, quality, and appearance standards before being delivered to guests
  • Deliver product to guests by carrying and balancing a tray weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Provide friendly, quick, and polite service to guests
  • Promptly respond to guest requests
  • Report customer complaints/issues to MOD
  • Assist guest with payment
  • Make accurate change quickly and efficiently
  • Clear trays and trash from guests vehicles, patio, drive-thru, and parking lot
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards
  • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties including trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease
  • Regular attendance
  • Report employee complaints/issues to MOD
  • Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Complete Skating Carhop training requirements
  • Perform duties while on roller skates
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required
