Job Description
This job opportunity is with a well-established restaurant known for its unique carhop service. The restaurant offers a classic dining experience where guests are served directly at their vehicles, blending nostalgic charm with modern efficiency. The company is committed to maintaining high operational standards and ensuring a superior level of customer satisfaction. With a focus on quality food and attentive service, it creates a welcoming environment for both customers and employees alike. The position offered is nonexempt and reports directly to the Manager on Duty (MOD). This role provides an exciting chance to work in a dynamic and friendly atmosphere while engaging with customers in a hands-on service capacity, wearing roller skates if trained, to enhance the unique dining experience.
The role of a Carhop is pivotal in the restaurant's customer service operations. As a Carhop, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food products meet the operational, quality, and appearance standards before they reach the guest. This job requires delivering food and beverages directly to guests by carrying and balancing trays that may weigh up to 25 pounds. A significant emphasis is placed on providing a friendly, quick, and polite service, making the guest experience as pleasant and efficient as possible. Responsibilities also include promptly responding to guests' requests, assisting them with payments, making accurate change, and clearing trays and trash from the vehicles, patio, drive-thru, or parking lot areas.
In addition to service duties, Carhops are expected to comply with all company policies and procedures, including regular cleaning and sanitation tasks. These tasks involve trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, washing dishes and food preparation tools, wiping counters, sanitizing food preparation areas, cleaning equipment, and emptying used grease. The job requires regular attendance and the ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, which is typical in the restaurant industry.
For those interested in advancing their skills, the role offers specialized training for Skating Carhops. This includes operating on roller skates while performing duties, adding an engaging and nostalgic element to the service. The role necessitates the physical capability to move and stock food products up to 50 pounds and engage in continuous standing, bending, reaching, stooping, stretching, and lifting in a restaurant environment. Exposure to heat, hot liquids, cold storage conditions, and varying weather temperatures are also part of the work environment.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy active, customer-facing roles and take pride in delivering outstanding service while working in a lively and fast-paced setting. The Carhop role is not only about delivering meals but creating memorable experiences by blending efficient service with friendly interaction and traditional diner charm. If you thrive in environments that require multi-tasking, effective communication, and a positive attitude, this position offers a valuable opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to excellent food service and guest satisfaction.
