Job Requirements

  • At least one year experience providing care services for seniors
  • Knowledge of basic first aid
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Understanding of state and federal guidelines for assisted living
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
  • Understanding of safe food handling procedures
  • Familiarity with nursing standards of practice for older adults
  • Strong skills in nurturing organization and working with older adults
  • Previous experience working in senior living preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide services to each resident according to the resident service plan
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing dressing eating hygiene and mobility
  • Monitor health safety and well-being of residents
  • Document changes in residents’ functional status personal needs appointments etc.
  • Maintain accurate record of chargeable services and submit to supervisor monthly
  • Respond to resident emergencies provide first-aid and arrange medical attention
  • Launder residents’ clothing linen and towels fold and return to residents
  • Assist with minor housekeeping of residents’ apartments
  • Serve meals and bus tables during mealtimes
  • Report on-the-job injuries to supervisor before end of shift
  • Encourage socialization among residents and promote activities
  • Chaperone activities outside the facility when requested
  • Maintain safe home-like environment for residents
  • Practice safety with equipment chemicals tools and utensils
  • Maintain confidentiality of information pertaining to residents facility and personnel
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services
  • Perform other duties as assigned
