The Downtown Des Moines store, located at 405 Court Avenue, is looking to hire a Car Delivery Driver who serves as the crucial connection between the bakery and its customers. As the "boots on the ground" representative for Insomnia Cookies, the Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering freshly baked cookies, milk, and ice cream to devoted fans within a busy but manageable 2-mile delivery radius. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in a lively, fast-paced environment and take pride in providing excellent customer service. Delivery Drivers at Insomnia Cookies are the main face the customers see outside the bakery. They ensure that every order is accurately checked for quality and completeness before heading out, then use the company’s delivery app to keep customers informed with precise status updates.
This part-time position offers a competitive pay rate of up to $15.00 per hour and includes appealing perks such as Pay on Demand — allowing employees to access their earned wages daily instead of waiting until the end of the week. Job Requirements
- Must have your own car, license, valid registration, and valid insurance
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicles background check
- Must have a smartphone with data plan
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Must be 18 years or older to be employed
Job Qualifications
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of the 2-mile radius surrounding the store is a plus
- Ability to provide friendly and professional customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Experience using smartphone apps for navigation and delivery management
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Duties
- Check orders for quality and accuracy before they leave the store
- Deliver our cookies, milk and ice cream to our loyal fan base, in a timely and safe fashion
- Provide quality customer service through positive and professional interaction with customers whether in-person or by phone
- Use Insomnia's delivery app to approved company standards and provide accurate status updates to customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with store management and team members
