The Captain position at Dave & Buster’s is a crucial role that significantly influences the guests' overall experience from the moment they walk through the door. This position requires a confident and effective communicator who can welcome guests warmly and guide them through the various aspects of their visit, including the Midway arcade, retail areas, game rentals, and dining services. Captains act as frontline ambassadors of the brand while also ensuring that safety and house policies are upheld throughout the venue. They serve as the initial point of contact for any concerns or questions, helping to diffuse challenging situations with professionalism and courtesy. The role involves diverse responsibilities such as monitoring safety across multiple zones including the kitchen, dining rooms, bar, and private event spaces; maintaining the cleanliness and organization of game and rental equipment; assisting in event setup and breakdown; and supporting the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

This position demands a high level of enthusiasm, attentiveness, and multitasking ability, as Captains juggle greeting guests, managing wait times, facilitating smooth game play, and responding to guest inquiries promptly. Job Duties

  • Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun
  • act as an initial point of contact in matters concerning safety and security in all areas including front door, viewpoints, Midway, bar areas, kitchen and back of house areas, dining areas, private event rooms and restrooms
  • act as ambassador to the building, assisting guests with all requests and answer questions as needed
  • greet guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while performing multiple job functions
  • keep immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action
  • provide timely and accurate service while managing wait times and communicating information as needed to guests, team members and managers
  • competently diffuse difficult guest situations while protecting the integrity and safety of our staff, building and house policies
  • assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the Viewpoint and Midway areas
  • assist in the cleanliness and organization of the rental equipment, ensuring all billiard supplies are stocked, properly cleaned and maintained to maximize costs and decrease loss
  • check for restocking of necessary supplies and bring all areas up to standard
  • assist in the rental of Billiards and Shuffleboards, maintaining and resetting the area after each use
  • assist with the set up and break down of special events functions as directed by management
  • provide game assistance by promptly notifying support technicians or management as needed
  • assist and direct guests to kiosk areas and answer questions as needed
  • ensure that guests adhere to house policies as outlined and inform management of any issues
  • bid farewell to guests leaving, ensuring everything was satisfactory and inviting guests to return
  • assist other team members as needed or as business dictates
  • maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum team member morale, productivity and efficiency/effectiveness
  • be dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean and professional at all times
  • demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English
  • be at least 18 years of age
