The Captain position at Dave & Buster's plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests receive a positive and welcoming initial impression upon entering the venue. This role requires a dynamic and proactive individual who excels in communication and guest service. The Captain acts as a guiding force for guests as they navigate the Midway, retail areas, game rentals, and dining experiences. The responsibilities extend beyond customer interaction to include enforcing house policies, maintaining safety and security, and supporting operational functions throughout the facility.
Captains serve as ambassadors to the building, assisting guests with requests, answering questions, and ensuring all areas—from front door to private event rooms—are managed with professionalism and enthusiasm. They are expected to greet guests with a positive attitude, perform multiple tasks effectively, and promptly address any issues or concerns that arise. This role requires a strong ability to manage wait times, communicate clearly with guests and team members, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
In addition to guest interaction, Captains assist with equipment upkeep, event setup and breakdown, and compliance with house policies to protect both staff and guests. The position demands an individual who can diffuse difficult situations tactfully and uphold the company’s standards of conduct and safety. The role is fast-paced and requires standing and moving throughout the facility for the entire shift, making it suitable for energetic, service-oriented professionals.

Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- positive attitude and enthusiasm for guest service
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- customer service experience is preferred but not required
- ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- age of at least 18 years
- ability to maintain a professional appearance according to dress guidelines
Job Duties
- Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through food, drinks and games in a fun environment
- act as an initial point of contact for safety and security in all areas of the venue
- assist guests with requests and answer questions as an ambassador of the building
- greet guests positively while performing multiple job functions
- promptly inform supervisors of any problems or unusual occurrences and take corrective action
- manage wait times and communicate effectively with guests, team members and managers
- diffuse difficult guest situations while maintaining safety and house policy adherence
