Job Description

Tre Dita and Bar Tre Dita represent a unique and celebrated collaboration between the award-winning Chef Evan Funke, renowned for his culinary excellence at Felix, Mother Wolf, and Funke, and Lettuce Entertain You, a prestigious restaurant group known nationally for outstanding food, service, and work environment. Tre Dita's name translates to "three fingers" in Italian, inspired by the precise thickness of a traditional bistecca Fiorentina, a signature dish served on Tre Dita's cucina Toscana open-hearth, wood-fired grill. This upscale Italian dining establishment presents a carefully crafted menu of handmade pastas and other authentic dishes, delivering a genuine taste experience. Located on the second floor of The St. Regis Chicago, a striking architectural masterpiece designed by the award-winning Jeanne Gang, Tre Dita offers guests breathtaking, panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River nestled within the vibrant Lakeshore East neighborhood. The restaurant operates seven nights a week, focused on providing an exceptional dining experience for all guests.

Joining Tre Dita means becoming part of Lettuce Entertain You's larger family of over 100 restaurants across the nation, celebrated for cultivating creativity, passion, and dedication among its team members. The company is committed to fostering career-long growth through consistent training, development opportunities, and comprehensive benefits for its employees. If you aspire to advance your career within a progressive and caring environment that prioritizes employee well-being and development, Tre Dita offers a golden opportunity to join a dynamic, team-oriented workplace.

The role of Dining Room Captain at Tre Dita is essential for creating remarkable guest experiences by leading the front-of-house team with enthusiasm and professionalism. Dining Room Captains are responsible for partnering with front and back servers to provide efficient and friendly service across assigned sections, including head and VIP tables. They assist in leading wine and beverage service alongside sommeliers or wine stewards, utilizing their knowledge to make informed recommendations, suggest pairings, and ensure exemplary service standards.

This position demands exceptional multitasking abilities, a high energy level, and excellent communication skills to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. Dining Room Captains must ensure every guest's needs are anticipated and met with patience, tact, and genuine warmth. Responsibilities extend to accurately processing orders and payments, following all safety and sanitation protocols, and upholding company policies and procedures. Physical stamina is also essential, as the role requires standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering safely throughout the restaurant during shifts.

Tre Dita offers competitive benefits including restaurant discounts, medical insurance coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental and vision insurance, life and accident protection, critical illness insurance, paid vacation for qualifying employees, domestic partner benefits, a 401(k) plan, and an employee assistance program focused on mental health and wellness. This comprehensive package reflects Tre Dita and Lettuce Entertain You's commitment to valuing and supporting their team members.

If you possess a passion for food and wine, strong leadership qualities, and a desire to contribute to an esteemed restaurant known for quality and service excellence, the Dining Room Captain role at Tre Dita invites you to apply and become part of a nurturing and innovative team.
