Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess current 100 ton captain's license with a satisfactory record
- Minimum five years marine experience including two years as a captain
- Comprehensive knowledge of ship's systems including gangways, diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, water, fire suppression, communications, and navigation
- Ability to operate vessels under Coast Guard rules
- Skilled in vessel handling and navigation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Capacity to handle internal and external guests with patience and diplomacy
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven multi-task management ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing as per DOT
- Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident in compliance with USCG
Job Qualifications

- Ability to operate vessel per Coast Guard rules and procedures
- Proficient vessel handling and navigation skills

- Strong guest service skills requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Problem analysis and resolution capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Word and Excel
- Compliance with DOT regulations for drug and alcohol testing
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident per USCG regulations
Job Duties
- Rotate as cruise captain on cruises and ensure adherence to procedures detailed in the Product Management Guide
- Gather pertinent cruise event details from other departments to fulfill special guest requests
- Conduct pre-cruise meetings and communicate necessary information to crew
- Ensure staff and guests adhere to all safety standards and procedures
- Participate in the execution of the Safety Program including emergency drills
- Maintain all ship's systems and boarding facilities including gangways, diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, water systems, fire suppression, communications, and navigation
- Ensure compliance with Coast Guard and all federal and local regulations
- Recruit and train non-exempt operations staff
- Schedule crew according to staffing matrix
- Manage performance and discipline adhering to company guidelines
- Recommend promotions to Marine Management
- Develop positive working relationships within the team and with city department heads
- Resolve guest problems effectively in conjunction with the on-duty Restaurant Manager
- Oversee implementation of safety programs
- Complete shift records accurately, including checklist, logbook, and payroll
- Ensure prompt and accurate incident reporting
- Participate in payroll administration
- Execute collateral duties such as uniforms management, crew training, recruiting, scheduling, and vessel maintenance
- Attend scheduled meetings
- Assist in invoice processing and general accounting assistance
- Manage additional assigned tasks
