Job Description

Candlewood Suites Boston/North Shore/Danvers is a newly renovated extended-stay hotel that offers a modern and comfortable environment designed to meet the needs of both guests and employees. This property features refreshed suites equipped with full kitchens, upgraded in-room amenities, new bedding, a fitness room, and complimentary laundry facilities. Located conveniently at the junction of Route 1, I-95, and Route 114, the hotel is strategically situated near Salem, Boston, Gloucester, and several major business hubs. It proudly promotes a pet-friendly atmosphere and caters primarily to long-stay travelers, providing a blend of convenience, comfort, and a warm, welcoming environment that benefits both its customers and its dedicated staff. The property is committed to maintaining high standards of hospitality while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

The role of Director of Sales at Candlewood Suites Boston/North Shore/Danvers is a dynamic and pivotal position responsible for driving the sales and marketing strategies that ensure the hotel remains a top destination. This is an overtime eligible manager (OEM) role, which means that the Director of Sales position includes eligibility for overtime pay, recognizing the commitment and extra effort needed to excel. As the sales leader, you will be the creative force behind filling rooms, increasing revenue, and celebrating team successes. Your passion for connecting with clients and exceeding ambitious sales goals will be at the heart of this role.

In this position, you will lead the sales team by assembling, training, mentoring, and inspiring a diverse group of professionals ready to tackle challenges with enthusiasm and positivity. You will be responsible for developing bold sales and marketing strategies, creating accurate budgets and forecasts, and designing marketing campaigns that elevate the hotel’s presence within the community and among travelers. The role requires active participation in sales calls, property tours, and client meetings to build strong relationships and maintain a loyal customer base. This hands-on approach ensures that you stay connected to the market’s needs and preferences.

Additionally, as the Director of Sales, you will work closely with the General Manager to support hotel operations. Your role extends beyond sales to becoming an ambassador of style and positivity, actively involved in various departments to foster collaboration and operational excellence. This leadership position demands strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, as well as the ability to strategize and analyze market trends and internal data to maximize performance.

Candidates for this role should bring at least two years of progressive hotel sales experience or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. A valid driver’s license is required for performing duties that include travel and client engagement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer knowledge are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and maintain composure under pressure. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing hotel property where your sales leadership will directly contribute to ongoing success and guest satisfaction, surrounded by a vibrant team and excellent benefits.
