Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years experience in retail customer service cash handling and inventory management
  • Previous barista experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge typically obtained through high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years experience in a retail operation with an emphasis in customer service cash handling and inventory
  • Previous barista experience strongly preferred
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work diplomatically and effectively with all faculty staff and students
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Must be self-motivated self-disciplined and detail oriented
  • Excellent follow-through skills

Job Duties

  • Assists in the operation of a store unit including purchasing special orders receiving and shipping and return of overstocked or defective merchandise
  • Acts as a good steward of the convenience store budget following operating policies and procedures
  • Assists in maintenance of stock displays signs and inventory and participates in yearend inventory
  • Follows store systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the store
  • Greets customers in a friendly manner and takes food and drink orders
  • Prepares and serves beverages ranging from simple to complex
  • Takes payments and operates point-of-sale system
  • Keeps the work environment sanitary and organized
  • Helps as needed with the operation of auxiliary services such as vending machines or student service areas
  • Represents department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization and department
