Job Description
Forest Glen Camps is a renowned outdoor ministry dedicated to providing enriching and spiritually uplifting experiences for guests of all ages. Nestled in the heart of Texas, this camp offers a serene and natural environment where groups can gather for retreats, team-building activities, and faith-based programs. With a strong emphasis on hospitality and service, Forest Glen Camps strives to create memorable experiences that foster personal growth, fellowship, and a deeper connection with Jesus Christ. The camp operates with a dedicated staff who share a passion for serving others and facilitating impactful group experiences in a welcoming and supportive setting. The employment opportunity is for a Host position, offering in-person work with a flexible schedule and pay ranging from $10.50 to $12.00 per hour.
The Host at Forest Glen Camps plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all visiting groups. Before groups arrive, the Host is responsible for setting up the site and preparing the necessary areas for the guests. Greeting groups upon their arrival is a key part of the role, involving warm and personable interaction to make guests feel welcomed and valued. Throughout the visit, the Host remains attentive to the needs of the groups, responding promptly and effectively to any requests or issues that may arise. They are also present during all group meals to assist in coordination and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Regular check-ins with the group leader help maintain clear communication and address any evolving needs. After the group departs, the Host manages the breakdown and clean-up of the site, preparing it for the next visitors. Additionally, the Host may assist in facilitating activities for Forest Glen campers and guests as needed, contributing to the overall success and fun of the camp experience. This role requires a mature faith in Jesus Christ, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate confidently in front of groups, and a servant’s heart dedicated to putting others first. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work comfortably outdoors in the Texas heat. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about service, faith, and outdoor ministry to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment.
