Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain a pleasant, professional phone manner
- Typing skills of at least 30 wpm
- Ability to work well under pressure in a high-stress environment
- Adaptability to changing policies and procedures
- Capability to learn and apply facility-specific guidelines
- Certification as Emergency Medical Dispatcher within 1 year of employment
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
- Availability to work full-time
Job Qualifications
- Pleasant, professional phone manner
- Detail oriented
- Typing skills of 30 wpm or better
- Ability to excel in high-stress environment
- Adapt to frequently changing policies
- Ability to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognize when to apply them
- Medical background a plus
- EMD certification required within 1 year of employment
Job Duties
- Answer, screen, and direct calls for entire company
- Distinguish the need for emergency transportation
- Pre-arrange transport for facilities while determining the level of care needed for patients
- Arrange specialty and critical care transportation
- Provide information and assistance for customer service inquiries
- Communicate with multiple departments and EMS personnel
- Provide supportive information to customers to assist them in arranging appropriate transport
- Develop effective solutions for customer service issues
- Direct calls to Flight desk as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
