Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- At least six months customer service experience in healthcare or related field
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of health information privacy laws
- Familiarity with DoD, federal, state, and non-profit healthcare systems
- Strong data entry skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet
- Effective teamwork and problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- At least six months of customer service experience in a healthcare environment or related discipline
- U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of health information privacy requirements
- Familiarity with DoD and federal healthcare systems including DoD Tri-Service Military Healthcare Systems, TRICARE, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Affairs, Public Health Department, and related local support services
- Ability to perform accurate data entry with attention to detail
- Superior customer service, problem solving, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet applications
Job Duties
- Utilize the AVAYA automated Call Distribution (ACD) system to handle appointment-related calls
- Accurately and courteously schedule medical appointments while validating patient eligibility
- Ensure appointments are booked, canceled, or rescheduled per NCR standards and IRMAC protocols
- Proactively contact patients to schedule appointments and document each interaction diligently
- Verify patient registration information using MHS Genesis Revenue Cycle appointment software and update records as needed
- Collaborate with Referral Management Reviewers to ensure proper scheduling of referrals
- Direct beneficiary eligibility questions to the Chief, PAD at the Military Treatment Facility
- Provide clinic appointment access and send electronic messages to healthcare providers
- Send telephone consults to designated triage nurses following completion of calls
- Provide feedback to project managers regarding patient access and call interactions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
