This philosophy underpins the company’s focus on nurturing a supportive work environment where employees can thrive both personally and professionally.
Joining Proper Hospitality means becoming part of a community that not only prioritizes guest satisfaction but also deeply values its team members through comprehensive benefits and developmental opportunities. There's a strong emphasis on creativity, resourcefulness, and pride in the collective style and culture that define the Proper hospitality experience.
The role of Restaurant Host at Proper Hospitality is a frontline position essential for delivering an outstanding guest experience. The Host serves as the welcoming face of the restaurant, greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, managing reservations and waitlists, facilitating smooth seating arrangements, and maintaining excellent communication with both guests and staff. This position requires a blend of customer service expertise, organizational skills, and the ability to perform efficiently during busy periods. Hosts play a critical role in establishing rapport with guests, remembering preferences, and addressing potential concerns proactively to ensure each visit is memorable.
The position demands a positive, calm demeanor even during high-volume service times and a professional approach to problem resolution. Hosts coordinate closely with servers, bartenders, and managers to uphold smooth operations and high guest satisfaction. Additionally, they support team initiatives by assisting with training new hosts and providing extra help during peak hours, such as answering phones or assisting guests with their needs.
Candidates are expected to have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably prior experience in hospitality or customer service roles, particularly in dining environments. Familiarity with reservation systems and handling guest inquiries is highly valued. The role also requires physical stamina for standing, walking, and occasional lifting, reflecting the dynamic pace of the restaurant setting.

The company’s commitment to equal employment opportunity and inclusive hiring practices ensures that every team member is respected and empowered to succeed. Working at Proper means being part of a diverse, caring team dedicated to crafting beautiful experiences for all guests and each other.
