Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- three years decorating experience or equivalent
- health department training required
- ability to calculate percentages and ratios
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to apply basic algebra
- effective communication and teamwork skills
- ability to read, write and understand English
- knowledge of cake decoration and baking
- physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- willingness to work in refrigerated and heated environments
- ability to climb ladders
- ability to tolerate dust and chemical fumes

- must pass pre-employment drug test

Job Duties
- Provide optimum customer satisfaction
- maintain a neat and well-groomed personal appearance
- report safety hazards and comply with occupational safety regulations
- establish and maintain vendor relationships
- maintain good communications within the department and organization
- notify department manager of personnel or policy issues
- assist in receiving and unloading merchandise
- verify receiving accuracy
- operate bakery equipment including ovens and mixers
- assist in ordering and inventory control
- control utilities and observe conservation practices
- record and confirm accuracy of invoices
- mark up and down merchandise and spoilage
- properly label and date products
- achieve sales targets
- follow weights and measures procedures
- maintain cleanliness and organization of bakery products
- comply with health and safety codes
- check refrigeration equipment performance
- use and maintain equipment properly
- decorate cakes and pastries with icing techniques
- trim and shape cakes
- tint and apply colored icing
- form decorations
- prepare icing mixtures
- follow schematics and sales plans
