The role of a Bakery Team Member is vital for maintaining the day-to-day operations of the bakery section, including preparing products for sale, decorating, icing, pricing, packaging, and labeling. Employees in this position are expected to uphold the highest sanitation standards across the freezer, cooler, prep, and sales areas, ensuring that all products meet quality and freshness benchmarks. They also perform duties such as proper rotation of bakery products, communication of guest requests to management, and assistance in product receiving and storage. Employees will gain experience using specialized tools like airbrushes for cake decoration and must be adept at following cake manuals and production sheets for accurate product preparation. This role also involves engaging guests with polite greetings, announcing specials on PA systems, and maintaining a clean, organized supply area. The position demands physical stamina as it requires standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting trays or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Job Duties

  • Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests
  • prepare product for sale including icing, decorating, pricing, packaging and labeling
  • maintain product level, quality and freshness
  • perform bakery clerk functions when requested
  • maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area and sales area
  • properly clean work area, couplers and decorating bags
  • maintain the organization of the freezer including proper rotation of product according to variety
  • communicate guest requests to management
  • communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor
  • keep supply area neat, clean and tidy at all times
  • properly rotate icings including reading dates and scraping down buckets
  • use cake manual as reference material
  • write on cakes
  • properly mix colors according to color chart
  • master the use of the airbrush
  • use cake production sheet
  • achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the cake section
  • perform all other duties as assigned by management
  • perform Front Porch duties to ensure guest arrival standards
  • announce specials and sale information on the PA system
  • assist in product receiving and storage
