The position of Cake Decorator at Sam's Club is a vital role within the bakery department, focused on driving member service and satisfaction by delivering beautifully decorated bakery products. Cake Decorators are experts in utilizing decorating tools such as piping bags, tips, and nozzles to create decorative flowers, lettering, and other intricate designs on cakes and other bakery items. They are responsible for planning bakery production, maintaining consistency, adhering to recipes, and following food safety and sanitation standards. This role also leverages digital technology to enhance production efficiency, merchandise ordering, and product quality.

Beyond technical skills, the Cake Decorator acts as a brand ambassador, modeling high-quality service and products, mentoring team members, and fostering a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented work culture. They are accountable for managing inventory effectively, controlling waste, and preparing for seasonal events that impact bakery volume. Core responsibilities include assisting members with purchasing decisions, resolving concerns, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery area.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Six months experience in a fresh production area
  • Ability to successfully complete all required trainings and assessments within prescribed time periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity standards
  • Commitment to a drug-free workplace

Job Qualifications
