Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- artistic and creative skills
- ability to read and write simple correspondence
- effective communication skills
- basic mathematical skills
- common sense reasoning
- meet state requirements for bakery equipment operation
- valid State Food Handlers Permit
- valid Driver's License or State ID card
- completion of company training programs
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- willingness to comply with safety standards and procedures
- ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform manual tasks
- availability for assigned shifts
- ability to provide excellent customer service
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- artistic and creative skills with thorough understanding of colors, textures, and presentation of bakery products
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- effective communication with guests, vendors, and associates
- mathematical skills involving money, weight, and volume measurements
- common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems
- meets state minimum requirements to work with bakery equipment
- valid State Food Handlers Permit
- valid Driver's License or State ID card
- completion of Yoke's provided training programs including active shooter, bakery skills levels one, two, and three, food handlers safety training, HIPAA training, late night retail safety, safety orientation, and guest service training
- optional Hepatitis A vaccination provided by Yoke's Pharmacy
Job Duties
- Reporting for assigned shifts on time and prepared to provide excellent service
- promoting sales through product discussions and recommendations
- providing exceptional service by greeting guests and informing them of specials and services
- decorating cakes and preparing items for retail and special orders
- planning and requesting supplies for holidays and promotions
- demonstrating skill in decorating techniques
- operating bakery equipment safely and correctly
- communicating and completing guests' special order requests with accuracy and timeliness
- mentoring new associates and assuring a positive learning environment
- ensuring compliance with workplace safety, food handling safety, and company policies
- participating in accident reduction plans and maintaining cleanliness
