Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
- successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- high school diploma or GED
- 0-3 years relevant experience
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to handle stressful situations
- ability to operate bakery equipment according to company guidelines
- proficient with computer applications used in bakery department
- possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
- adherence to safety and sanitation protocols
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- ability to follow company policies
- ability to maintain a safe work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0-3 years of relevant experience
- strong customer service skills
- exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- knowledge of basic math
- ability to work in stressful situations
- ability to operate bakery equipment such as slicers, ovens, scales, knives, box cutters, and pricing guns
- proficiency in computer applications related to bakery operations
- possession of or ability to obtain Food Safety Certification within 180 days
- English language proficiency
- Spanish language skills preferred
- ability to collaborate and promote teamwork
- knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
Job Duties
- Produces high quality decorated items and baked goods according to company standards
- decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
- assists in daily bakery department operations
- creates welcoming customer environment to increase loyalty
- ensures product availability, freshness, quality, and value
- offers product samples and responds to customer inquiries
- fulfills customer requests and special orders
- maintains efficient method of receiving and processing orders
- uses decoration kits and freehand techniques
- completes daily and weekly tasks including communications and training
- processes and bakes merchandise following production guidelines
- checks product quality and shelf life
- manages inventory and stock rotation
- ensures compliance with food safety standards including temperature control
- promotes teamwork and guides associates towards goals
- adheres to local, state, federal laws and company policies
- maintains safety, sanitation and productivity standards
- reports safety risks and compliance issues
- manages product recalls and withdrawals properly
- supports and enforces safety programs and training
- operates bakery equipment according to guidelines
- follows wage and hour policies
- performs other duties as assigned
