The role of the Cake Decorator is vital to our bakery operation, as it involves the artistic and precise decoration of cakes and desserts following standardized recipes and company procedures. Reporting directly to the Bakery Manager, the Cake Decorator will be responsible for preparing high-volume cakes and desserts that meet quality standards and customer expectations. This position requires working variable hours, including nights and weekends, to accommodate store needs and peak times. Candidates must be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment typical of a busy grocery store, involving tasks such as heavy lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling. The role also requires good sensory abilities, including visual and auditory skills, to ensure the decoration process is executed with precision and effectiveness.

In addition to cake decorating, this role includes various preparation and sanitation duties essential to bakery operations and food safety compliance. The successful candidate must hold a current Food Handler Card or an equivalent certification, emphasizing our commitment to strict food safety standards. Job Requirements

Food Handler Card or equivalent certification
Ability to lift heavy items
Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights and weekends
Experience in cake decorating or bakery operations preferred
Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation
Good visual and auditory capabilities

Job Qualifications

Previous experience as a cake decorator or in a bakery setting preferred

Job Duties

Prepare and decorate high volume cakes and desserts using standardized recipes

Work during varied hours including nights and weekends
